Basic Info BioCanadian, 23, eldest child, book muncher, writer, fannish. Right. If I could describe myself in this little box, would I really have a livejournal?
In all honesty, though, the livejournal's mostly for the fannish things in my life. Not entirely, but mostly. Star Trek, Stargate, ER, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter. Might even be some fanfic in here again, but don't hold your breath.
I like to think I bring the snark but sometimes I'm just weird. In a good way. I knit and blab about that a lot. And I like to watch Stargate and figure out where they filmed it and if I've been there. It amuses me.
The name of my website is This Watery Place. The wording I came up with but I think the idea started from listening to "Kite" by U2 on nearly constant replay for a while. Especially the lines:
In summer I can taste the salt in the sea
There's a kite blowing out of control on a breeze
Also, I majored in Marine Biology and have always lived near the ocean. But somehow those lines just clicked something in my head and I realized that my brain/subconcious is a watery place. I think this explains a lot about what you're likely to see on my journal. In the vaguest way possible.
And the current name for my friends' page (someone change the locks before we trash this place) comes from the Spirit of the West song "Save this House" and it seemed appropriate at the time.
